The Assembly has expressed the need for the publication of the Electoral Code in a simplified format

The Assembly recently passed a bill amending and supplementing the Electoral Law, with the measure receiving 59 votes in favor and three against. Following the vote, the Speaker of the Assembly, Antonio Milošoski, directed the Commission for Political System and Interaction between the parties, alongside the Legislative Legal Commission, to convene to review the legislation. The proposed bill was submitted to the Assembly by a group of delegates, including Antonio Milošoski, Zekira Tairi, Daniel Stojčevski, Blerim Beqeti, and Ivanka Vasilevska.

Key provisions within the legislation include the introduction of electronic voting options for the diaspora community and modifications concerning the state funding allocated to political parties. The proponents of the bill emphasized that the Electoral Law requires updating to align with the current draft framework. Beyond these specific points, the submitting group detailed several other proposed changes to the existing electoral framework.

The passage of this bill marks a significant step in the ongoing reform of the nation’s electoral processes, requiring further review by specialized commissions before final implementation.
