SKOPE AERODROM “LETA” NATIONAL AIRPORT – Macedonia is the leader in the number of aircraft accidents

Twenty-one commercial airports operate with regular passenger service across the region formerly known as the Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. During the period spanning January through May of the current year, these facilities collectively served a total of 13,105,289 passengers. Within this total, Macedonia represented the most significant market, accounting for 375,766 passengers during the first five months.

Data compiled by the portal “Ex-Javea” indicates that the airports located within the main urban center of Macedonia were particularly active, serving an additional 360,589 passengers during the same timeframe. Focusing on the month of May, Skopje recorded a notable increase in passenger numbers, reaching 355,929 passengers, which marked a 28.6% rise. This surge in traffic was attributed to the substantial expansion activities undertaken by “Viz Air” in the area.

Overall, the consistent flow of passengers underscores the continued importance of air travel infrastructure throughout Macedonia. The reported figures provide a clear number illustrating passenger movement across the primary transportation hubs.
