SDSM Accuses ZNAM of Being a VMRO-DPMNE Tool to Undermine Opposition
The Social Democratic Party of Macedonia (SDSM) has accused the “znam” movement of operating as a political tool of the VMRO-DPMNE party, alleging it was established to weaken the opposition. SDSM contends that the “znam” movement, led by Maxim Dimitrievski, is not an independent political party but rather a satellite organization created and funded by Christian Miskovski with the intention of suppressing opposition voices. Recent reports indicate “znam” engaged in activities directly opposing the opposition during the past period.
Investigations have also suggested that personal and business interests are influencing the movement’s operations. Following the dismantling of its organizational structure and Dimitrievski’s departure, the “znam” movement was left without leadership or a defined structure. SDSM maintains that “znam”’s actions demonstrate its function as a political instrument designed to destabilize the opposition.
The accusations center on the movement’s strategic positioning and its reported efforts to disrupt the political landscape. The ongoing dispute highlights tensions within Macedonian politics and the perceived attempts to influence the opposition.
