Putin Assesses Progress in Ukraine Conflict, Signals Readiness for Response
Moscow, Russia – Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that Russia is successfully executing its objectives within the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Speaking to the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry on June 14, 2024, Putin asserted that russian forces are operating “bravely and effectively” in the designated zone of “special military operations.”
The Russian president emphasized the liberation of “historical territories” as a key component of the operation. He reiterated a central demand: the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions, returning them to their pre-conflict administrative borders established prior to their entry into the Russian Federation.
Putin stated that Russia will respond “immediately to the threats” posed by Ukraine. A key condition for a potential de-escalation, according to Putin, is the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian forces and a firm commitment from Kyiv not to join NATO. “Ukrainian troops must be completely withdrawn from the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions.
From their entire territory, their administrative borders at the time of their entry into the Russian Federation,” he declared. The meeting underscored Putin’s continued assessment of the conflict’s progress and Russia’s readiness to react to perceived security concerns.
