As hot summer days increase the demand for frozen desserts, new statistics reveal a notable “sweet” advantage for Macedonia. Data released by Eurostat and the State Bureau of Statistics indicates that while European nations generate and consume massive volumes of ice cream, Macedonia maintains a significant foreign trade surplus, exporting considerably more ice cream than it consumes within its domestic market. According to the latest data, in the specified year of 2025, the European Union recorded a total production of 3.44 billion liters of ice cream.
This figure represents a 1.9% increase compared to the 3.38 billion liters produced in 2024. The data clearly illustrates the scale of the market, which could be accompanied by a detailed photo representation of the supply chain. Among the EU members, Germany remains the largest producer, contributing 608 million liters.
Italy holds the second position in production, while other nations follow. This international overview highlights the immense scale of European consumption.
