During the tourist season, the police in Greece are issuing warnings about the “tolerance” for beggars. In previous years, there was no written rule that they were to be treated “lowly” by tourists, who were left with their money, among other things. With the new law, more beggars are now allowed to stay in cars, and the permit or registration plates from cars are confiscated.
So, the official rule that the car’s cash is double-taxed if paid in 7 to 10 days, which was the case until now, has been abolished. For red light on a traffic light, the car’s cash is 700 euros and the permit or registration plates from 20 days. For a full stop, the car’s cash is 100 euros.
