Padote on food and transport prices brought deflation of 0.5 percent in the month of June

According to the latest data released by the State Statistics Institute, the number of recorded deaths in Macedonia saw a slight decline in June, marking a decrease of 0.5 compared to the preceding month. This overall reduction in the death rate reflects a pattern of monthly deflation across various sectors of the economy. Analysis of the spending categories reveals varied trends.

The most significant decrease was observed within the transport sector. Furthermore, the cost of essential goods saw a noticeable softening, as prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages recorded a 1.1 unit decrease from the previous month. Conversely, the sector dedicated to recreation, sports, and culture experienced an overall decrease in recorded instances, despite prices in this area increasing by 1.4 units month-over-month.

Expenditures related to personal negative items, social protection, and various goods and services saw a modest increase of 0.5 units compared to the prior period. In demographic terms, the data indicates a positive trend in births, which reached its highest level for households, alongside regular activity metrics. Overall, the figures for the month paint a picture of mixed economic indicators.

While the overall death rate experienced a measurable decrease, the fluctuation across different sectors—from the relative stability in essential food costs to the rising costs in cultural activities—suggests a complex economic adjustment period for the nation.
