The waste management unit within Opština Veles has commenced the replacement and distribution of new waste containers, or cant, across several local villages. This initiative involves upgrading the waste infrastructure for multiple residential areas. In recent days, work has been conducted to distribute new waste cant to the following villages: Bashyno Selo, Crkvino, Mautuchevo, Dorutovec, Chołoshevo, Otovica, and Novaci.
For this initial phase, a total of 410 new cant were distributed. The remaining containers are slated for neighboring villages, including Socjalari, Rashtani, Karašari, Orizari, Buzalkovo, Klokocet, and Bela voda. According to reports from Opština Veles, the total scope of the project encompasses the complete dismantling of 1,150 existing waste cant across all these settlements.
This ongoing effort aims to improve waste collection services throughout the listed villages. The announcement regarding this substantial infrastructure upgrade was officially made on July 1, 2026.
