Obama: We spent billions, many more died, and the situation only worsened (VIDEO)

Obama Criticizes Military Spending and Iran Nuclear Deal

Former U.S. President Barack Obama expressed significant concerns regarding the ongoing situation and the substantial financial investment made in response. Speaking in an interview with the “TODAY” program, Obama stated, “Now we are in war, we have spent billions of dollars, we have built our army under enormous pressure.

Many have died. And what is the reason we are back where we were before we started the war, except for what we could have done in a small situation.”

Obama indicated a desire to reconsider the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran. He stated his willingness to dismantle the agreement, adding that he would advocate for its nullification, particularly concerning the 2015 nuclear agreement.

The former president emphasized that during his administration, Iran had committed not to develop nuclear weapons under the terms of the agreement. “This administration, or its predecessor, did not do anything about it,” he asserted. Obama’s comments reflect a critique of the billions spent on military efforts and a renewed focus on the existing nuclear agreement with Iran.

He expressed hope for a cessation of hostilities, suggesting a need for a different approach to the situation.
