Employment Figures Show Increase in North Macedonia
New data released by the Macedonian government indicates a positive trend in the country’s labor market. According to figures presented at a recent press conference by Bojan Stojanovski of VMRO-DPMNE, the number of employed people has risen significantly. Over the first three months of 2026, a total of 707,385 individuals were recorded as employed in North Macedonia.
This represents an increase of approximately 17,000 compared to the 691,736 people employed during the preceding three months of 2024. The data also reveals a decrease in unemployment rates. The time lag in unemployment has been reduced from 12.5 percent to 11.3 percent, while the time lag in employment has shifted from 45.6 percent to 46.5 percent.
Stojanovski emphasized that these results are a direct consequence of the government’s economic policies. He stated that the official data, sourced from the State Agency for Labor and Social Policy, demonstrates tangible and measurable outcomes. The figures highlight a period of growth within the Macedonian labor market, reflecting the ongoing impact of current economic strategies.
