The Assembly, during its 109th session, approved a new Law on Games at the Meeting and Fun Games. The legislation passed with 60 votes in favor and 20 against. During the session, the replacement Minister of Finance, Nikolče Jankulovski, detailed several key provisions of the new law.
A central aspect of the legislation concerns the physical placement of establishments offering games. Under the new law, any facility intended to replace games at the Meeting must be situated at least 500 meters away from primary and secondary schools, with measurements taken along the safest pedestrian path. Mr.
Jankulovski also highlighted significant restrictions placed on advertising for casinos and gambling establishments. The law prohibits light advertising entirely. Instead, only a sign displaying the name of the establishment is permitted, and this sign must adhere to strict size limitations of 100 by 30 centimeters, and must not include any promotional slogans.
Furthermore, the law introduces penalties pertaining to the use of GPS-location devices. The passage of this law aims to regulate the operation of various entertainment venues within the state’s territory. These updated regulations govern everything from the distance between gaming sites and educational institutions to the nature and visibility of promotional signage, thereby establishing a new legal framework for the industry.
