The Minister of Education and Science, Vesna Jovanovski, accompanied by the first deputy president of the Vlada and the Minister for European Affairs, Bekim Sali, recently visited the State Student’s House “Steve Neumann.” Joining the delegation was Marta Kos, the Commissioner for the reconstruction of the European Union, to observe ongoing reconstruction activities at the facility. During this visit, Minister Jovanovski provided an update on the comprehensive plan to modernize student accommodations across the nation. She stated that beginning October 1, student residents will be relocated to the newly reconstructed Student’s Houses “Steve Neumann” and “Kuzman Josifovski-Pit.” Furthermore, she announced that the broader renovation and reconstruction efforts for all remaining student houses throughout Macedonia are scheduled to commence by September.
The initiative is backed by a substantial financial commitment of approximately 50 million euros. Of this total funding, an allocation of 10 million euros has been designated specifically for the renovation and reconstruction of the remaining student housing units. The presence of the Commissioner, Marta Kos, underscores the international attention on these educational infrastructure improvements.
The detailed planning, overseen by the minister and attended by high-level officials, aims to provide improved living conditions for the student body as the country moves forward with these vital upgrades.
