Mitsoski Expresses Reservations on Future Operations
Skopje – European Council President Christian Mitsoski stated on June 2, 2026, that he would not support any future operations lacking a clearly defined objective. The comments were made during a meeting with Prime Minister Antonio Costa and observers from non-aligned nations in Skopje. Mitsoski emphasized the importance of a strategic understanding before undertaking any ventures.
He specifically addressed the Prime Minister, stating that he does not possess the capacity to endorse operations without a known endpoint. The Council President highlighted the Macedonian side’s demonstrated competitiveness and commitment to successfully navigating the broader European integration process. However, he stressed that this competitiveness is contingent upon a clear perspective and a defined outcome.
“Without a clear perspective and known end, we cannot enter such an adventurism,” Mitsoski asserted. He underscored the need for careful consideration and strategic planning within the context of the ongoing integration efforts. The discussion reflects a cautious approach to future undertakings, prioritizing a well-defined strategy for the Macedonian government.
