“MARSHAL TITO” IS REVOLTED AGAINST HIS FATHER, THE ORDER OF THE NAME OF THE STREETS UNVEILED

Tetovo City Council’s Street Renaming Initiative Challenged in Ordinary Court

The Ordinary Court convened yesterday, April 24, 2007, to address a dispute concerning the City of Tetovo’s proposed street renaming initiative. The case stemmed from the Ordinary Council’s decision to alter the names of streets, squares, bridges, and other public objects within the city. The Ordinary Court determined that the Ordinary Council of Tetovo had not secured the necessary approval from the Executive Council in accordance with established legal and statutory regulations.

The matter was initially presented to the court on February 11, 2025, by Dardan Sotirovski and the Council of the fighters of the NOB-Tetovo. In 2007, the Ordinary Council had previously renamed several streets and the city square, designating them as the “Marshal Tito” boulevard and the “Ilira” square. The court’s intervention highlights a procedural challenge within the city’s governance structure, focusing on adherence to established approval processes by the Ordinary Council and the Executive Council.

Further details regarding the court’s ruling are pending.
