MACEDONIA SEVEN IN EUROPE according to the forecasts for economic growth

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has released its latest economic forecast for the continent, positioning Macedonia as a rapidly expanding economy within Europe. The analysis covers all regions of Europe, including non-EU members, and projects a significant growth trajectory for the nation. Macedonia is currently ranked seventh among the continent’s fastest-growing economies.

The forecast indicates that Macedonia is set to achieve a growth rate exceeding 3% between 2027 and 2031. This rate contrasts with the projections for larger established economies within the EU; for instance, Germany is forecast to experience growth of 0.92%. Analysts note that Macedonia’s projected growth aligns closely with global economic trends, mirroring the momentum seen in major global centers such as China and India.

While Malta holds the top position in the growth forecast, the Western Balkans region generally features prominently among the top ten economies. The IMF report also highlights broader structural concerns across parts of the region, including issues related to public debt levels, population demographics, and general economic stability. Overall, the data suggests that while regional economies face headwinds, Macedonia is positioned favorably within the broader European growth landscape, demonstrating strong projected expansion compared to some of its larger European peers.
