MACEDONIA AND THE YEAR OF THE LEADER, Filipče and SDSM are the only ones in Europe to be prosecuted for the crime of rape

The VMRO-DPMNE government stated that European institutions acknowledge the situation in Macedonia and anticipate the country will lead the region’s growth plan this year. The statement criticized the opposition party, SDS, for its perceived lack of support for key legislative reforms. According to the VMRO-DPMNE, SDS reportedly did not vote in favor of several legislative decisions proposed by the Reform Agency.

These areas include the Energy Law, the Law on Administrative Employees, education laws, and digitalization legislation. The government indicated that the protracted timeline—suggesting a seven-year process for these reforms—constitutes an abandonment of the reform path. The VMRO-DPMNE urged that SDS clearly communicate its position to the citizenry.

Specifically, the party must inform the public that it does not support these reforms, which are presented as originating from the European Union. The government questioned the premise that SDS could advocate for a superior future vision for Macedonia while simultaneously opposing these EU-driven reforms. The core message conveyed is that the opposition’s stance undermines the stated goals for the nation’s development trajectory.
