Macedonia and Serbia are launching the campaign “Walking without shoes” for the reduction of unreasonable expenses

Macedonia and Serbia have initiated a joint effort through the launch of the “Walking off the mark” campaign, an initiative aimed at mitigating unreasonable demands between the two nations. Relevant institutional bodies from both Macedonia and Serbia commenced the campaign activities this year. The official launch event took place on July 1, 2026, at 16:14, at the border crossing located at Tabanovac.

Key figures present at the event included Panče Todorovski, the Minister of Internal Affairs for Macedonia, and Ivić Dacić, the Vice-President of the Government and Minister for Internal Affairs of Serbia. Attendees were supplemented by representatives from the respective governing bodies, specifically the Macedonian Republic Safety Council for the unreasonable demands and the Serbian Agency for the unreasonable demands. The establishment of this joint campaign underscores a structured commitment from both Macedonia and Serbia to cooperative border management and dispute resolution.

The focus of the “Walking off the mark” initiative is to address and reduce contentious or unreasonable demands that have historically impacted bilateral relations and border procedures. This joint deployment of resources and institutional collaboration highlights a formal mechanism for dialogue. By bringing together senior officials and specialized agencies, the campaign aims to establish clearer protocols for cooperation.

The participation of key figures from Macedonia and Serbia at the launch signals a high-level commitment to normalizing cross-border interactions and ensuring stability along the shared frontier.
