The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MV) reported the arrest of two residents of Tetovo following an investigation into a dispute concerning a border closure decision and the establishment of an insurance deposit. Police intervention took place at 8:55 p.m. on July 8th at the intersection of “135” and “Savov Tasevski” in Tetovo.
The incident involved a disagreement that drew attention to four vehicles displaying Tetovian registration plates. A man identified as Sh. A., aged 45, from the village of Jajince, managed the situation before leaving his vehicle.
According to the Ministry’s statement, police officers subsequently reviewed video footage captured by the “Safe City” surveillance system. This review led to a clarification regarding the vehicles involved. The footage indicated that the four-cylinder car in question was not directly involved in the initial disagreement.
Instead, the police determined that the vehicle had been transported to the location by a tow truck service, where it was subsequently found. The arrests of the two individuals are linked to the underlying dispute over the border closure and the associated deposit requirements. The MV provided details regarding the circumstances surrounding the confrontation, confirming that the investigation focused on the details surrounding the operational decision that prompted the police action in the Tetovo area.
