FIFA President Gianni Infantino will travel to the 2026 World Championship finals held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico this summer. He intends to attend the tournament’s matches utilizing a private jet for transportation between host cities. The itinerary includes visits to Mexico City, Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver, and Miami, among other locations designated as part of the championship.
Infantino’s travel plans were disrupted last summer during a similar event. His extensive travel, involving numerous kilometers per day, ultimately allowed him to attend at least one, and occasionally two, of the final matches. Concerns have been raised regarding the environmental impact of the World Championship.
Estimates suggest the event will generate approximately nine million tons of carbon dioxide, exceeding previous projections of around 14 million tons. The FIFA president’s planned summer travel highlights the organization’s commitment to overseeing the global tournament.
