INVESTMENT IN THE MIND HEALTH OF YOUNG PEOPLE – FREE psychological support for secondary school students

Skopje is launching a new initiative to provide free psychological support for secondary school students aged 15 to 19. Announced by Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski, the project will encompass two primary activities: individual psychological counseling and educational workshops. The counseling component will offer complimentary individual sessions designed to provide emotional support, facilitate open conversation, and assist young people with understanding their emotional well-being.

Furthermore, the sessions will incorporate musical assistance. These services will be accessible at three designated locations: Kozev, the Airport, and the Center. Complementing the counseling services, the initiative includes educational workshops aimed at parents of students from 23 secondary schools.

These workshops will focus on critical areas such as violence prevention, strategies for dealing with addiction, and methods for enhancing overall mental health among adolescents. Mayor Gjorgjievski stated the necessity of the program, emphasizing the importance of addressing the mental health and vulnerability of the youth population. The goal is to ensure that there is adequate care provided for the emotional stability and sense of belonging of secondary school students.

This comprehensive approach aims to bolster the support network available to young people in Skopje.
