“Dosta” Villa Preservation Initiative Unveiled with Presidential Support
The “Dosta” villa, a significant symbol of Macedonian cultural identity and tradition, was the focus of a new initiative formally introduced under the patronage of President Gordana Siliashovski Dakovska. The event, organized by the Meštrović Gallery, aimed to celebrate, renew, and preserve this recognized landmark. Approximately 500 attendees, including diplomats, representatives from international organizations and various business sectors, were present.
Mayor Ognjen Jakupovski of the Mavrovo and Rostushe municipality also attended. Leading the presentation was President Dakovska and the team of initiators who detailed a comprehensive plan for the protection, prevention, and activation of historically and culturally significant sites. Specifically, the plan outlines detailed actions for the revitalization of the “Dosta” villa.
The initiative seeks to ensure the long-term preservation of this building and its importance within Macedonian heritage. The unveiling of this plan is introducing a crucial step in safeguarding architectural treasures and promoting cultural tourism in the region.
