A Macedonian citizen is currently in custody and is considered the primary suspect in the death of a 45-year-old woman in Agia Kaya, Greece. The Athens News Agency reported that the individual, a 45-year-old, has admitted to the murder. The victim was the sister of a man previously convicted in the nearby village of Chania, Crete.

The investigation began following the disappearance of the woman on May 30th, year. A “missing alert” was issued for Stavroula Levendaki, 45, and she was subsequently taken into custody to provide a statement. During her time in custody, Levendaki offered no information regarding the circumstances of her disappearance.

Investigators determined that the Macedonian citizen was arrested for suspicion related to drug supervision and was also under investigation concerning the timeline surrounding the woman’s disappearance.
