Skopje Mayor Orce Gjorgievski announced plans for what he termed the most historical investments in the city’s secondary schools. The initiative details significant upgrades to sports facilities across several educational institutions, marking a substantial enhancement to student athletic resources. The planned improvements cover multiple schools, each receiving specialized upgrades tailored to various sports.
At SUGS “Orce Nikolov,” the enhancements include the addition of two basketball 3×3 courts and a dedicated volleyball court. SUGS “Zdravko Tsvetkovski” will benefit from a new tennis court alongside a volleyball court. Further upgrades are slated for SUGS “Arseni Jovkov,” which will receive an expanded sports ground accommodating basketball, football, and handball, in addition to basketball and volleyball courts within the main sports hall.
Similarly, SUGS “Panche Arsovski” and SUGS “Vlado Tasevski” are set to gain dedicated basketball and volleyball courts within their respective sports halls. Mayor Gjorgievski highlighted that this comprehensive development represents the largest investment in this sector to date. The commitment underscores a focus on improving physical education and providing modern sporting environments for students throughout the city.
The announcement by Gjorgievski confirms a multi-faceted effort to modernize and expand recreational and training facilities across the public secondary school network.
