GERMANS ATTEND THE TOURIST SEASON IN HRVATSKA, 36% LESS THAN THE LAND

According to the Central Statistical Office (CSO), the Croatian tourism sector experienced a 6.6% decline in visitor numbers this year. This figure marks a decrease when compared to the 13.5 million overnight stays recorded in the previous year. International visitors have reported heightened dissatisfaction regarding the quality of services and general conditions within Croatia this year, noting that these concerns appear more pronounced than they were in prior years.

Experts suggest that such negative feedback could potentially impact the viability of the upcoming tourism season. The primary areas of complaint highlighted by foreign tourists fall into several distinct categories. One major concern is the significant escalation in pricing; services and general conditions have seen price increases ranging from 25% to 30% overall, with accommodation costs rising by over 40%, often without a corresponding increase in provided value.

Furthermore, reports have indicated issues related to the local experience. Some visitors have cited instances of unfriendliness and negative interactions with the local population. Infrastructure and service standards have also drawn criticism.

Specific complaints include inadequate hygiene levels on popular beaches, as well as concerns regarding the condition of sunbeds and scuba diving facilities, alongside generally high costs for bar services and amenities. These accumulated issues suggest a need for attention to maintain visitor satisfaction levels compared to previous years.
