Explosions in front of the homes of members of Nea Demokratia in Thessaloniki, five damaged

Explosions occurred in the homes of several members of the Nea Demokratia party in Thessaloniki. The incidents involved improvised explosive devices, which were placed outside the residences of three prominent party figures. According to reports, the devices, constructed from small bundles of straw, were strategically placed in the early morning hours, between 4:00 AM and 5:00 AM.

The targets included Zissis Ioakimidis, the President of the Executive Board of Nea Demokratia in Thessaloniki; Sawas Anastasiadis, a delegate who was reported injured; and Aphrodite Nestora, a candidate for the party delegate position. The coordinated blasts resulted in five people sustaining injuries. The attack targeted the private homes of these key members of the party.

While the severity of the incidents varied, the report noted that in three of the locations, no injuries were sustained. However, the most serious explosion, which took place outside the home of Aphrodite Nestora, also resulted in no reported casualties. The deployment of the improvised devices suggests a coordinated effort aimed at disrupting the lives of these political figures.

Authorities are investigating the source and perpetrators of the explosions that occurred at the homes of the party members. The events have heightened security concerns regarding the political figures residing in the area.
