EFA: Bugaria apologizes for the crimes against the Macedonian minority

At the annual meeting of the European Free Alliance, a unanimous declaration was adopted, in which Bulgaria formally apologized for the crimes against the Macedonian minority during the communist rule, and also acknowledged 14 cases before the European Court of Human Rights related to the registration of Macedonian organizations in Bulgaria, and it was put in the EFA’s bulletin. The declaration assessed that the Macedonian minority in Bulgaria is facing one of the most serious human rights crises within the European Union. According to the European Free Alliance, systematic repression and ethnic cleansing, which are being observed in Macedonia in Bulgaria, are a direct continuation of the policies of de-nationalization initiated during the communist regime of Todor Zhivkov.
