EBOLA RELEASES OUT OF CONTROL – A dangerous mob has taken over the center for treatment, patients are fleeing

Violence erupted in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, resulting in the burning of an Ebola treatment center in the Ituri province. According to official reports, the incident led to the death of one police officer and injuries to two others. Joseph Pema Makumbu, a chief health official with DPA, confirmed that the facility, located in the village of Bafwabango, was set ablaze.

Makumbu stated that the destruction of the Ebola treatment center forced the evacuation of several individuals, including patients infected with the virus and others exhibiting symptoms. Following the incident, the facility’s operations were suspended indefinitely. Authorities cited safety concerns, noting that medical staff cannot safely resume work at the damaged center.

The burning of the facility represents a significant blow to ongoing public health efforts in the region. The destruction of the center has immediate implications for the ongoing management of the Ebola outbreak. Health officials are currently assessing the scope of the damage to ensure continuity of care and safe patient handling.

The immediate focus remains on stabilizing the area and providing alternative medical services to manage the risks associated with the virus.
