Macedonian text: Куба announced plans to reform its economy based on the socialist market economies of China and Vietnam, with Miguel Diaz-Canel, the president, stating that the planned opening would create a huge demand for private sector businesses in place of the heavily state-controlled planned economy. He said that the planned changes would include land reform, as well as restructuring of the state apparatus. In the meantime, some economic activities that were previously banned for private businesses in the past will be allowed, but not additional details.
The SAD has increased the economic pressure on Cuba over the past months in the context of a series of sanctions to coerce political and economic reforms on the island.
