Archbishop Stefan refused to visit SAD and Canada

The Secretariat of the Holy Archdiocesan Synod of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric has issued a statement regarding the participation of the Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonian Archbishop Stepan. The announcement confirmed that due to health considerations and following medical recommendations, Archbishop Stepan will be unable to attend an upcoming meeting of the American-Canadian diocese. This planned gathering was deemed necessary in the wake of recent diocesan assemblies that convened at the Church of St.

Cyril and Methodius in Villoubuk, Chicago. In his statement, the Secretariat conveyed that despite his temporary absence, Archbishop Stepan intends to maintain his pastoral leadership over the community. The announcement further noted that, with divine assistance, the archbishop will organize a subsequent meeting soon.

This arrangement aims to ensure the continuity of his guidance and leadership for the Macedonian Church for many years to come. The communication provides updates on the ongoing administrative and spiritual life of the Church, acknowledging the importance of the scheduled meetings while prioritizing the health and well-being of the senior clergyman. The report details the Church’s ongoing efforts to coordinate its American-Canadian diocesan activities following the recent assemblies.
