Film Homage to Ante Popovski to Screen at Cinema House
From June 6th, in collaboration with the Ante Popovski Works Preservation Association, a film homage to academic Ante Popovski will be shown at the Cinema House. The event marks 95 years since the poet’s birth. The screening, announced on June 3, 2026, will feature a selection of films where Ante Popovski served as a screenwriter or producer.
This initiative aims to introduce a previously less-explored aspect of Popovski’s creative work – his involvement in film. Ffilmologist and Cinema House advisor, Professor Dr. Athanas Tuposki, is curating the program.
He will deliver an introductory address at the opening. The selection will draw upon Popovski’s essayistic writings. The event seeks to provide the public with a deeper understanding of Ante Popovski’s multifaceted career, encompassing both poetry and film.
The Cinema House anticipates a significant audience for this unique tribute to the celebrated figure, Ante Popovski. —
