Fire at “Viva Vincom Dominium Beach” Results in Fatalities and Injuries
A significant fire occurred at the “Viva Vincom Dominium Beach” complex, resulting in the death of Francesca Valentino, a 46-year-old Italian national. The DAEH service confirmed the fatality and reported that three individuals were transported to a medical facility for treatment following the incident. Six other individuals sustained burns on-site, including guests, visitors, and rescue personnel.
Local media, broadcasting footage of the dramatic scene, captured dark clouds rising over the beach and the extensive damage to the roof of the abandoned building, completely engulfed by flames. The Centar za iznimna situacije (COE) indicated that the fire spread rapidly. Preliminary investigations suggest the rapid propagation was due to the highly flammable construction materials used in the building’s palm tree structure.
Emergency responders were present at the scene managing the situation. Authorities are continuing to assess the full extent of the damage and investigate the cause of the fire. The incident involved a tourist and highlighted the potential dangers posed by abandoned structures.
