A Macedonian text: A TURKISH DRAGON FLYING AT 203 km/h, AWAITS GEVGELIERA

According to reports from the Macedonian police, a Turkish citizen was issued a fine for excessive speeding while operating a vehicle in the Gevgelija area. The incident reportedly occurred at the “Friendship” roadblock near the village of Miletkovo. Details provided by the police indicated that the violation was recorded by radar control.

A police officer, identified as G.C. (46), cited the Turkish driver for exceeding the posted speed limit. The officer noted that the individual was operating a Mercedes passenger car bearing a German registration plate.

The official report specified that the vehicle was traveling at a speed of 203 km/h. This reading significantly exceeded the established speed limit of 120 km/h posted at the location. The enforcement action highlights a substantial discrepancy between the actual speed recorded and the legal limit.

Following the issuance of the fine by the police, the Turkish driver formally contested the decision. The driver alleged that the actual perpetrator of the offense was the police officer who issued the citation, challenging the validity of the speed measurement and the subsequent penalty. The police department handled the matter, documenting the violation based on the radar readings taken at the time.
