Skopje Police Seize Cargo Shipments, Two Officers in Custody
Skopje, North Macedonia – On June 23, 2026, at approximately 11:51 a.m., police officers conducted a check on a passenger motor vehicle on ‘Jadarska Magistral’ street in Skopje. The vehicle, driven by M.I. (19) from Skopje, was found to be carrying 22 cargo shipments without proper documentation.
Following the inspection, two police officers from the Policist service, based in Mirkovci, were taken into custody. Additionally, the driver, M.I., was found not to possess a valid driver’s license. Authorities determined that the vehicle had been transporting approximately 90 cargo shipments without the requisite documentation.
The incident is currently under investigation. Further details regarding the nature of the cargo shipments are not being released at this time. The Mobile Unit for Compensatory Measures at the OGRM assisted in the operation.
