CRITICAL IN MARIOVO – No loud fires are heard

According to the Central Office for Crisis Management (CUK), Macedonian authorities reported a total of 37 fires over the last 24 hours. Fire services managed to extinguish 31 of the incidents, with one fire currently under control. Officials noted that there are ten active fires, alongside five other reported incidents.

The most critical situation remains in the region of Mariovo. In this area, active fires are reported in the Chanište vicinity, with smoke and flames spreading into Kruševa, Lopatica, Crna Reka, and Orle villages. Specific active fire locations were identified across several municipalities within the region.

In the Studenci Municipality, a fire involving mixed wood is burning along the path connecting Morane, Vrtetika, and Ramni Haber. Additionally, in the Makedonski Brod Municipality, an active fire is located in the Vidos locality, impacting the areas near Dragov Dol and Loxica villages. A third significant incident occurred in the Kičevo Municipality, involving a forest fire in the village of Tajmishte, near a newly established fire station.

Despite the widespread nature of the fires, authorities confirmed that one fire reported at the depots has been successfully extinguished. The ongoing efforts are focused on containing the multiple active blazes across the region.
