The period from June through August has seen multiple incidents, prompting official advisories. One recent and notable incident occurred on August 10th in Sarti, Halkidiki.
Goran Komazec, a 56-year-old resident of Belgrade, passed away while attempting to assist a man being swept away by strong currents near the beach. His young son was also involved in the incident. These figures underscore the gravity of the safety risks faced by expatriates and tourists from Serbia traveling throughout Greece.
