The solo photography exhibition, titled “Wonderful Guests,” featuring the work of Tijana Mitrevska, is scheduled to open on the evening of August 19, 2026, at the Francophenic Park in Skopje. The opening event will serve as the debut presentation of the collection. The photographs comprise the results of extensive, long-term research conducted by Mitrevska.

Her work documents selected locations and masked traditions across Macedonia and Europe. This material was gathered through intensive individual fieldwork, complementing her participation in the “Echoes of a Forgotten World” project. This broader project received support from UNESCO CC4WBs.

The exhibition aims to illuminate the unique cultural aspects of historical rituals, tracing them from specific sites such as Ithri, Vevčani, and Nusa, through to the Soča valley. “Wonderful Guests” presents a comprehensive visual narrative, exploring the enduring spirit of past times. The collection moves beyond simple documentation, offering a deep look into cultural continuity.

By focusing on these traditional practices, Mitrevska invites viewers to contemplate the relationship between contemporary life and deeply rooted cultural heritage. The exhibition provides a substantial visual journey, presenting a curated selection of images that encapsulate the resilience and mystery of regional customs. Attendees can anticipate an immersive experience that highlights the depth and scope of Mitrevska’s dedication to preserving and presenting these cultural narratives.
