Jarden Ariava, demonstrated that the drug interferes with a critical metabolic pathway utilized by malignant cells. Specifically, sildenafil appears to restrict the capacity of cancer cells to utilize cholesterol. Cholesterol is recognized as an essential structural component of all cell membranes.
