Initial assessments conducted by authorities in Greece indicate significant damage resulting from recent large-scale fires. Ministry of Infrastructure inspectors have inspected 325 objects across the most severely affected areas, including western Attica, Crete, Voiotia, Achaia, Argolis in the Peloponnese, and Phokis in central Greece. The most substantial damage was reported in western Attica, where 84 objects were entirely burned. Among these, 67 objects were assessed as salvageable and requiring restoration. Authorities are continuing to conduct comprehensive terrain estimates to determine the full extent of material damage caused by the fires.
Overall, 119 objects have been declared unsafe and will require demolition. Specifically, for these 119 structures, it has been determined that 100% of the objects are destroyed, necessitating demolition. The initial count of 118 completely destroyed objects, concentrated largely in western Attica, underscores the widespread impact of the fires.
