Businessman Borche Markovski, who faces accusations of abuse of tender in REK, has reportedly traveled to Macedonia, according to his lawyer, Marian Nikolovski. Speaking to TV 24, Nikolovski addressed claims that Markovski was creating unnecessary alarm regarding the status of his legal case. The lawyer stated that Markovski is currently in Bitola with his family, following the conclusion of proceedings in Serbia.
Nikolovski emphasized that the family is compensated for the work completed there and asserted that they are not attempting to evade legal proceedings. Instead, they are awaiting the trial’s resolution regarding the outstanding work matters. According to Nikolovski, the legal action against Markovski was unavoidable.
He argued that if Markovski had not been able to initiate legal proceedings in Serbia to address operational issues within his company, the state would potentially have been responsible for covering the company’s salaries. It was reported that Markovski departed the “Tabancovce” border crossing on July 29th. The statements provided by Nikolovski aim to clarify the circumstances surrounding Markovski’s movements and defend his position regarding the ongoing legal dispute.
