VUCICI I RAMA NA ISTA LINJA – ZAGADNIK BALKAN: „EU became stronger thanks to Putin“

During an interview with the Financial Times, Aleksandar Vucic proposed a significant overhaul of the European Union’s current enlargement strategy. He suggested that the EU abandon its current model, which involves selecting individual nations for accession, and instead adopt a unified approach targeting the entirety of the Western Balkans. Vucic argued that treating the region as a single bloc would mitigate the risk of creating further geopolitical divisions among the neighboring countries.

He stated that regional cohesion would eliminate artificial boundaries, suggesting that if the nations were united, the distinction between areas like Pristina and Belgrade would diminish. According to his assessment, the region requires a joint membership framework to achieve stability. He elaborated that the integration of the Western Balkans into the European Union would fundamentally enhance stability across the area.

Vucic contended that a unified path would prevent the emergence of a volatile conflict zone between the nations already within the EU and those remaining outside the bloc. His remarks advocate for a collective regional strategy rather than piecemeal accession, emphasizing that deep integration is necessary for lasting peace and stability among the participating countries.
