The film festival “Preko eзеро” in Dojran: Dramatic intensity as a prerequisite for a good film

The 6th edition of the Balkan and Mediterranean Film Festival, “Preko ezero,” is scheduled to take place from July 8th to July 15th, though it will operate in a mini-release format. The festival’s program is set to feature a curated selection of 16 short films, comprising ten domestic and six international entries. Additionally, there will be a dedicated showcase of 13 student films originating from three different filmmaking faculties.

A significant focus of this year’s festival will be on contemporary Iranian cinema. The schedule includes four specific accents dedicated to this cinematic tradition, alongside a panel discussion addressing the challenges faced by Iranian authors both within their home country and abroad. Complementing these features, a practical workshop will be held focusing on the utilization of intelligent assistants within the filmmaking process.

The overall “Preko ezero” event will be guided by film director Janio Bojazi, who will lead the festival’s narrative. The film selection process will be overseen by film critic Zlatko Geleski. This streamlined festival format aims to provide focused programming while maintaining its commitment to showcasing diverse cinematic works across the Balkans and the Mediterranean region.
