The Minister of Transport and Public Works, Aleksandar Ninkoski, provided an update regarding the procurement of new public transport vehicles. He stated that the updated tender for the buses was due to be finalized on Monday and is currently undergoing an evaluation process. Ninkoski noted that while he has not yet received the final evaluation report, the review is being conducted by a commission comprising experts from both the Ministry of Transport and the Faculty of Mechanics.
He committed to reporting the findings with high accuracy once the evaluation is complete, expressing hope that the results will be available within the next few days. This updated tender pertains to the acquisition of a combined fleet, which includes 150 electric buses and 75 trolleybuses. Of this total acquisition, 100 units are specifically earmarked for service within Skopje.
The revised tender process follows the initial requirements for the procurement of these various types of electric vehicles. The thorough evaluation process is designed to ensure that the selection of the new public transport assets meets necessary technical and operational standards.
