MACEDONIA IS NOW IN A CRISIS – The new premier threatens to impeach the president!

The Hungarian Parliament recently passed the 17th amendment to the constitution, which specifically addresses the mandate of the head of state, Tamás Szürok. The government, under the direction of Prime Minister Péter Márki-Zay, enacted the change, characterizing Szürok’s role as an obstacle to the established system led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. Delegates from the ruling Tiszá party voted in favor of the amendment, following a week of advocacy by members of the Fidesz party.

The constitutional changes stipulated a five-day period for the head of state to sign the amendment. Following this, Prime Minister Márki-Zay indicated that should the head of state object to the law, procedures for impeachment and automatic suspension would be initiated. Beyond the change concerning the head of state, the constitutional amendments also included provisions extending the tenure of judges to 70 years.

This legislative action also mandated the resignation of the head of state. The passage of this new legislation represents a significant restructuring of the nation’s governance framework. The prime minister and his administration oversaw the passage, solidifying several key structural shifts within Hungarian law.
