The National Electronic System (NES) is established as a critical initiative designed to modernize and significantly digitize existing customs procedures. The platform aims to consolidate various processes into a single, efficient electronic gateway, allowing companies to manage customs duties and related filings seamlessly. This progress was highlighted by Aleksandar Nikoloski, the Ministry of Finance representative for customs, during his inauguration as Chairman of the National Electronic System Committee.

During the announcement, the Committee confirmed the successful conclusion of the tender procedure. Furthermore, details regarding the contract with the selected contractor responsible for implementing the new electronic system, named NEWS, were presented. The approval of this contract marks a key milestone in the transition toward a unified digital infrastructure for the nation’s customs operations.

According to the terms outlined in the agreement, the contracted partners have been granted a deadline extending to 2027 to complete the full implementation of the advanced national electronic system.
