According to the Crisis Management Unit (CMU), a total of 17 open fires were recorded across the state’s territory over the last 24 hours. Reports indicate that while one incident remains under control, the remaining 16 fires have been successfully extinguished. The fires currently under management were located in the Opština of Makedonski Brod, specifically in the village of Beлица, where the burning material consisted of beech and low vegetation.
Significant efforts were undertaken to extinguish the blaze in several distinct areas. In the Opština of Ѓорче Петров, multiple fires were extinguished across villages including Kukkovec, Kucko, Crkvino, Negotin, Hošovina, Crvenebreg, Bogdanci, and Stojakov. These incidents involved the burning of particularly low and degraded vegetation.
Further successful operations were conducted in Strumica, covering the villages of Dobrići and Bosilovo. Additionally, the Opština of Vasilevo saw multiple incidents extinguished, involving the burning of depots in the villages of Čanaklija and Gecelija, as well as in Čanačlija and Ѓecherlija. Overall, the coordinated response resulted in the successful containment and extinguishing of the majority of the reported open fires, minimizing spread across various ecological and populated zones.
