Ivanovski: We are not working on forming a new party, stop discrediting and constructing

Igor Ivanovski, a member of the majority faction within the SDSM, addressed recent internal disputes regarding the party’s direction. Speaking three days prior to the statement, Ivanovski asserted that there are no plans to establish a new political party. He directed criticism against efforts to discredit the SDSM, characterizing the opposition as weak and unsettled.

Ivanovski also called for an end to the pressure being exerted on members who have openly voiced their perspectives within the party. His remarks were addressed to the current leadership of the SDSM, which is headed by Venko Filipce. The statement was issued on July 4, 2026.

Furthermore, Ivanovski refuted accusations made by the SDSM leadership suggesting an intent to undermine the party or that he fears being expelled from it. He stated his continued membership in the party. In his remarks, Ivanovski urged that members cease attempts to undermine the SDSM, emphasizing that the party should not be weakened by internal conflict.

The core message was a plea to halt the discrediting campaign and allow open discussion within the party structure.
