Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced significant developments regarding Macedonia’s energy infrastructure, specifically concerning gas interconnectivity. He stated that the gas interconnector with Greece is expected to be completed in the first half of next year. Mickoski further provided an optimistic timeline for synchronizing the nation’s entire gas system with the Greek gas network.

He indicated that this synchronization is anticipated to occur within the first quarter of next year. Regarding the interconnector with Serbia, he confirmed that the planned work is proceeding and will be executed using state-owned funds. Addressing the financing of these projects, the Prime Minister emphasized that the initiatives will not rely on external sources such as loans, grants, or donations.

He stated that the government intends to fund these necessary infrastructure upgrades through state-owned resources. These announcements were made in the context of broader construction efforts, referencing the laying of a foundation stone for a closed base facility at OOO “Aco Shop.” Overall, the statements outline a commitment to advancing Macedonia’s gas sector connectivity, with key milestones scheduled for the first half and first quarter of next year, funded domestically.
