The highest recognitions of the 65th Struga Poetry Evenings are now in place

The 65th Strumska Evenings of Poetry concluded last night with the presentation of several prestigious literary awards. The event marked the culmination of the festival’s program, which featured a traditional poetry gathering titled “Mostovi” (Bridges). During the ceremony, several high-level recognitions were bestowed upon notable poets.

Dutch poet Anneke Brasinga received the “Golden Wreath” award for 2026, while Macedonian poet Nikolina Andova Shopova was honored with the “Braќа Миладиновци” award for her collection, “Vo Kuštata.”

In addition to these major festival accolades, the “Mostovi” poetry meeting featured readings from poets representing diverse geographical regions. Notably, Daniel Hinds from the United Kingdom was presented with the “Mostovi of Struga” award. This award is jointly presented by UNESCO and the Struga Evenings of Poetry to recognize the best poet.
