Within a 24-hour span, the city of Skopje reported two separate incidents involving structural and agricultural fires, resulting in material damage but fortunately causing no reported injuries. The first incident occurred in the village of Novo Selo. According to local reports, this fire impacted adjacent fields containing agricultural crops, as well as surrounding areas utilized for livestock.
Firefighting brigades were dispatched to the scene and successfully contained and extinguished the blaze. Police sources confirmed that the intervention was effective, and no casualties were sustained during the initial event. Later on the same day, around four o’clock in the morning, a second fire broke out in a different location within Skopje.
This second incident affected the premises of the Central Police Station. Fire services responded promptly to the second blaze, which required intervention to control and extinguish the flames. Authorities confirmed that while both instances represented significant material damage to private and public property, emergency responses managed to prevent any physical harm to residents or personnel.
The occurrence of these two separate fires in close succession has prompted local officials to review safety protocols in the affected areas.
