The library in Texas became insolvent in the schools (VIDEO)

A curriculum mandate in Texas has introduced a single, state-wide reading list that all students will be required to study. This initiative, passed by a committee controlled by Republicans with a vote count of nine to five, dictates educational requirements extending to 2030. According to reports, this mandatory reading list includes required passages concerning Adam and Eve and The Book of Exit.

This marks the first time that Texas has established such a unified reading curriculum for all students across the state. The syllabus incorporates established classics of English literature, such as Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations and William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. Furthermore, the scope of the reading material is broad, encompassing iconic speeches, including the renowned address by Dr.

Martin Luther King Jr. and a speech delivered by former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher to President Ronald Reagan. However, the inclusion of certain religious texts has generated significant opposition from various citizen groups and associations.

The implementation of this curriculum means that the local school library and educational resources must adapt to this new standard. The requirement for standardized reading materials has fundamentally changed the academic landscape, and the process by which these guidelines were established meant that the curriculum structure effectively became dictated by the committee’s vote.
